A bold Eau de Parfum for men by Jean Paul Gaultier, blending sweet caramel, aromatic woods, and sensual amber into an intensely addictive signature.

In 1952, Jean-Paul Gaultier was born in Arcueil, a small town on the outskirts of Paris. His childhood was enriched by memories of his grandmother, a bespoke dressmaker; spending his early years by her side sparked his fascination with the world of fashion.
At the age of 18, his sketches caught the eye of Pierre Cardin, earning him the opportunity to learn from the renowned futurist design master and laying the foundations for his future career as a designer. Gaultier’s designs frequently blend the traditions of haute couture with subcultural influences, a style likely rooted in his early experiences. His work is often described as ‘shocking’, primarily due to his masterful use of eclectic techniques.
Many designers in the 1990s embraced this philosophy, experimenting with the mixing of various elements, but most focused solely on the aesthetic appeal of the outward form. Gaultier, however, delved deep into the underlying meanings of individual elements. With a punk-inspired radicalism, he mixed, contrasted or deconstructed them, then reconstructed them, infusing the process with his own unique sense of humour. Somewhat irreverent yet brimming with creativity, he was like a playful young man who continually shook the world with his rebellious spirit and sense of wonder.
In 1976, he staged his first solo fashion show; a 24-year-old with nothing but his bare hands, he challenged the fashion world’s conventions. He turned recycled cans into bracelets and paired satin waistcoats with plastic trousers, re-examining the definitions of everyday objects and blurring the traditional distinctions between materials.
From the mid-1980s onwards, he went further, challenging gender boundaries and raising profound questions about sexual identity. His womenswear placed great emphasis on sexual characteristics; the spiked bra worn at Madonna’s concert that year became one of his signature pieces. In his menswear, he incorporated feminine elements, dressing male models in skirts adorned with embroidery or lace. Regarding the distinction between men’s and women’s clothing, he said: “Women have the right to display their strength, and men have the right to reveal their vulnerabilities.” … As for the issue of masculinity and femininity, far too many experiments have been conducted on women to date; conversely, for men, there is still a mountain of work to be done in the fashion world. Jean Paul Gaultier, who has designed numerous unique perfume bottle shapes, launched a women’s fragrance, ‘Ma Dame’, in September 2008. Regarding this latest masterpiece, tailor-made to unleash the youthful charm of contemporary women, Jean-Paul Gaultier expressed particular pride: “Ma Dame does not refer to a lady; she is my muse, bringing me surprise and joy.”
In 2010, Ma Dame revealed a lesser-known side of herself with the launch of a more elegant and confident Eau de Parfum version. Black rose was added to the base notes of musk and cedarwood, exuding a distinct floral allure, whilst the bottle’s glossy black and iridescent pink created an unprecedented, heart-stirring design. Ma Dame Eau de Toilette 2010 “Ma Dame” also allowed Jean-Paul Gaultier to fully embrace the androgynous trend of the 21st century.

Jean Paul Gaultier Scandal Men Eau de Parfum is a powerful and provocative fragrance crafted for men who thrive on confidence, charisma, and attention. The scent opens with vibrant aromatic freshness, quickly evolving into rich gourmand accords layered with warm caramel and refined spices.

At its core, sensual woods and amber notes create remarkable depth and masculine intensity, delivering a long-lasting trail that is both daring and sophisticated. Smooth, addictive, and unmistakably modern, Scandal Men balances sweetness with strength, making it an ideal signature fragrance for evening wear and statement occasions. Designed to captivate, this fragrance embodies bold masculinity with irresistible allure.
